FAS UGM and Tana Tidung Government Develop Online Animal Recording Application

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM in collaboration with the Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Office of Tana Tidung Regency developed the Sipedet livestock recording application (Integrated Livestock and Health Development System). Sipedet is the first information system in Indonesia that helps collect livestock in Tana Tidung Regency. This application can be accessed via a computer or mobile phone without having to open a web browser because it supports the progressive webapp feature.

“By using the Sipedet application, breeders can store various data about livestock, including data on animal identity, livestock distribution, livestock hospitalization stock, livestock health, and laws on livestock,” said Galuh Adi Insani, S.Pt., M. Sc., FAS UGM lecturer as one of the Sipedet application development team members, Friday (11/10) at the FAS UGM campus. read more

Feed Plays An Important Role In Chicken Farming

Feed is one of the most important factors influencing the success of chicken farming. This is due to the biggest production cost in livestock business is feed, which is about 70% of the total cost.

This was revealed by Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM lecturer, Prof. Dr. Ir. Zuprizal, DEA., IPU as a speaker in the Kuliah Gratis Bagimu Petani Kami Mengabdi, Friday (4/10) at the FAS UGM campus.

Zuprizal said, feed can be made by farmers themselves so that the cost of feed can be reduced and ultimately profits increase. “As long as farmers know how to make harmonious feed, namely knowledge about nutrition, the availability of feed raw materials, and the manufacturing process, farmers can produce their own feed,” explained the lecturer at the Animal Feed Science Laboratory. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM Develops Environmentally Friendly Supplements

TRIBUNJOGJA.COM – So far, most Indonesian farmers are still traditionally raising cattle, where the methane gas produced by livestock is not well managed so it pollutes the environment.

Methane gas itself is one of the causes of global warming which results in climate change, drought, and forest fires.

Also, when methane gas production is too high it has an impact on decreasing livestock productivity.

Seeing this, the Faculty of Animal Science UGM developed an environmentally friendly feed supplement that was able to reduce the production of methane gas produced by ruminants such as cattle, goats, and sheep. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM Develops Environmentally Friendly Feed Supplements

The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM developed PRO-NIN BLOCK, an environmentally friendly feed supplement that is able to reduce the production of methane gas produced by ruminants such as cattle, goats, and sheep.

“Methane gas is one of the causes of global warming, which in turn causes various problems such as erratic climate change, drought, and forest fires. The production of methane gas that is too high also has an impact on decreasing livestock productivity,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Lies Mira Yusiaiti, SU. IPU, FAS UGM  lecturer who developed PRO-NIN BLOCK. read more
