FAS UGM Student Became Ambassadors of Arts and Culture in Ecuador

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Chintia Kusuma Dewi (student batch 2018), became an ambassador for the arts and culture of Boyolali Regency at the Internacional del Foclor Festival on March 1-6 2019 in Ecuador. In the activity organized by the KBRI Quito, Chintia performed Merak dance and Topeng Ireng dance.

“In the parade, we performed group dances which depicted the solidarity and mutual cooperation of the community of Boyolali Regency. Another dance we also performed was Kala Krida Dance and Kusuma Bangsa Dance,” Chintia said in a release sent on Tuesday (3/26). read more

FAS UGM Student Received Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation Batch 3 Scholarship

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Agung Triatmojo (student batch 2015), was chosen as the recipient of the Batch 3 Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) scholarship organized by PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Tbk. The activity was filled with training in early January, work internships on January 14 — March 8, 2019, and ended with a field trip to Thailand and Cambodia on March 12-19 2019 and was attended by students from 10 universities in Indonesia.

“I was very lucky to take part in the CPBSA program because I could obtain work experience at the feedmill office in Semarang and a trip to two countries. In Bangkok and Cambodia, I had the opportunity to visit the VIV ASIA 2019 livestock exhibition and seminar and visit tourist attractions,” Agung said in a release sent on Monday (25/3). read more

Young Lecturers of FAS UGM Empower Farmer Group in the Peri-Urban Area

To maintain the role of livestock and to not disrupt the environment, three young lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM empower Sido Mukti Farmer Group since February 2019 which is located in peri-urban area. The three lecturers are Muhsin Al Anas, S.Pt., Satyaguna Rakhmatullah, S.Pt., M.Sc., and Riyan Nugroho Aji, S.Pt., M.Sc.

“Livestock in peri-urban areas has a great potential to be developed. Aside from being a business to increase the economic value of the community, livestock in this area can be developed into a city farm for tourism,” Muhsin Al Anas said when met at the FAS UGM campus on Monday (11/3). read more

Two Students of FAS UGM Become Delegates for the University Santo Tomas Model ASEAN Meeting 2019

Two students of Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, Veronika Yusvita and Nisma Islami Maharani (both from student batch 2014) became delegates at the University Santo Tomas Model ASEAN Meeting (USTMAM) on January 29-31 2019 at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.

“USTMAM is a simulation of the ASEAN meeting held to train the ability and critical thinking of the younger generation in lobbying, negotiating and diplomacy. The event was attended by 100 delegates from ASEAN countries,” Veronika said when met at FAS UGM campus on Thursday (28/2). read more

FAS UGM And Bangka Barat Collaborate On Livestock Development Studies

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM and the Board of Regional Development Planning and Development Research of West Bangka Regency collaborated in the Studies of Innovation and Technology Development on Potency Inventory and Design and Development of Livestock Development in West Bangka Regency. The signing of the cooperation agreement was held on Thursday (21/2) at FAS UGM campus.

“This cooperation is carried out in order that Bangka Barat Regency has a study base that can be used to make livestock development policies,” said Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU after the signing of the cooperation agreement. read more
