FAS UGM Students Win Gold Medal in Thailand Inventor’s Day 2019

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Laksa Ersa Anugratama (student batch 2016), won the Gold Medal in Thailand Inventors’ Day 2019 in the Medicine and Public Health category for his ideas in developing the Meet Pharmy game application. The event took place from 2 to 6 February 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Laksa is a member of the team who initiated the Meet Pharmy game application, chaired by Luh Rai Maduretno Asvinigita (Faculty of Pharmacy). Other members are Lutfiana Pasebhan Jati (remote sensing and geographic information systems of Vocational School UGM), Shinta Diva Ekananda (Faculty of Pharmacy), and Ris Heskiel Najogi Sitinjak (Faculty of Pharmacy). read more

63 Graduates of the FAS UGM Graduated

As many as 63 graduates of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM are graduated in the February 2019 graduation period. Among the 63 graduates, 17 achieve cum laude predicate. Sesa Gustaf Oktaviani achieve the predicate as the best graduate with a GPA of 3.83.

“Congratulations to the graduates. After this, there are many challenges to face, whether you will look for or create jobs, or continue studying,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday afternoon (20/2) at the Drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium of FAS UGM. read more

TROBOS Livestock-FAS UGM Holds TROBOS Goes To Campus 2019

TROBOS Livestock in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM held the TROBOS Goes to Campus 2019 on Wednesday (13/2) at the Drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium of FAS UGM with the theme “Prepare Yourself Welcoming the Livestock Revolution of the 4.0 Industrial Era”.

“We often report successful people in the fields of agriculture, fisheries and livestock, but the livestock sector has not been so well informed to the community. We want to raise this at UGM, participants can share with the speakers who dedicate themselves for the livestock,” said the director of TROBOS Livestock Magazine, Suhadi Purnomo, when giving a remark at the event. read more

Ibaraki University Assesses Cooperation Opportunities With FAS UGM

Ibaraki University, Japan, assessing opportunities for cooperation with Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM in the field of exchange student and staff, summer courses, research collaboration, credit transfers, and internships. Ibaraki University staff, Keito Motegi, visited FAS UGM on Monday (11/2) to discuss the opportunities.

“We visited FAS UGM to find out activities at the Office of International Affairs (OIA) of FAS UGM. Ibaraki University has faculty of animal science, this can be seen as collaboration opportunity,”  Keito Motegi said at the Dean’s meeting room of FAS UGM when received by the Head of OIA, Ir. Welcoming The Gold Anniversary, FAS UGM Focuses on Internationalization

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM will focus on internationalization in order to welcome the 50th anniversary on November 10, 2019 and this will be continued for the next few years. These goals have been started with several important steps, namely conducting bench marking, increasing the number of students from abroad, and completing laboratory facilities and farms with integrated modern industrial concepts.

“In the next five years, FAS UGM targets to be the best 10 in tropical countries in higher education in the field of animal science. “Steps in a systematic and structured manner are manifested in international seminars and bench markings to well-known institutions,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir.
