Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration with Global Food Partners and AERES University of Applied Science, The Netherlands, successfully held the International Training on Cage-free Innovation and Welfare Hub for the first time on 9 – 15 July 2023. International Training on Cage-free Innovation and Welfare Hub is a training for academics to learn the practice of cage-free farming system. These pilot cage and training centers are open not only to domestic academics, but also to those from abroad.
SDGS GOAL 9: INDUSTRY INNOVATION INSFRASTRUCTUR
Started construction in mid-2022, the International Training Center Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub has been completed and inaugurated on June 16, 2023. The International Training Center (ITC) Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub is a training center for the management of cage-free laying hens established by the Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration with Global Food Partners and AERES University of Applied Sciences Netherlands. Besides being a training facility, the ITC Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub also features a model farm for egg production with a cage-free system, capable of housing 3000 hens. Located in Kalijeruk Village, Ngemplak District, Sleman Regency, DIY, the ITC Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub is the first cage-free system model in ASEAN.
Faculty of Animal Science UGM officially cooperates with Crest.Co.Ltd, Japan in the field of implementing internship activities by signing a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Wednesday, March 29 2023 at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UGM. The signing of the PKS document was conducted by Prof. Budi Guntoro, as the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM and Kuriki Eizou as the Representative Director of Crest.Co.Ltd. With the official signing of this collaboration, both parties agreed to facilitate a collaborScience UGM H. The aim of this collaboration is to develop competency and improve the quality of Human Resources (HR), especially in the livestock sector to produce young generations in the livestock sector who are capable of becoming professionals in agriculture, young entrepreneurs and/or contributing to the livestock industry so they can compete globally.
Dean of Faculty of Animal Science UGM attended the Meet and Greet Program Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) Batch 5, 2023 invitation at the Holiday Inn Hotel Kemayoran Jakarta (4/3). In this event, CPBSA Batch scholarship recipients gathered and shared experiences regarding the programs that had been implemented.
CPBSA is a scholarship from PT Charoen Pokphand which is given to final year students from various majors and universities in Indonesia through strict selection.
As a follow-up to this activity, the participants and invited guests took part in a comparative study and visited the international exhibition in the livestock industry VIV Asia 2023 in 5 – 10 March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. (Secretariat/Prisil)
