As many as 63 graduates of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM are graduated in the February 2019 graduation period. Among the 63 graduates, 17 achieve cum laude predicate. Sesa Gustaf Oktaviani achieve the predicate as the best graduate with a GPA of 3.83.
“Congratulations to the graduates. After this, there are many challenges to face, whether you will look for or create jobs, or continue studying,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday afternoon (20/2) at the Drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium of FAS UGM.
To all graduates, the Dean advised that FAS graduates must be able to catch opportunities in the livestock industry. “The money turnover in the livestock industry reaches around 500 trillion rupiah, starting from chickens, feed, vaccines, slaughter house, livestock products processing, and so on. This is remarkable,” said the Dean.
In addition to science (hardskill), the Dean added, FAS graduates have also been provided with soft skills such as Sapta Pesona Diri. “Sapta Pesona consists of honesty is my breath, discipline is my attitude, responsibility is my soul, spirited is my blood, critical thinking is my habit, manner is my culture, and real work is my pride. Hopefully graduates can absorb it as a provision to work, “said the Dean.
The Dean hopes that FAS UGM graduates will be someone to be proud of and reliable and can work well and be appreciated. (Nadia)
