Faculty of Animal Science in UGM Receives a Comparative Study from Faculty of Animal Science and Fisheries in Unsulbar, Discusses Opportunities for Academic and Research Collaboration

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM receives a comparative study from the Faculty of Animal Science and Fisheries in the University of West Sulawesi (Fapetkan Unsulbar) on Thursday (4/12). The visit was led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sitti Nurani Sirajuddin S.Pt., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., as an effort to strengthen educational quality through benchmarking and exploring academic collaborations.

Prof. Sitti Nurani stated that the Faculty of Animal Science and Fisheries in the University of West Sulawesi is relatively new, only 13 years old, and therefore requires significant learning from more established universities. She hopes this visit will be the first step in encouraging lecturers to pursue doctoral studies and opening up opportunities for collaboration, such as public lectures and other academic exchange programs. read more

Laboratorium Assistant of the Faculty of Animal Science Develops Online Micro-Credential-Based Urban Farming Module 

The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) has once again contributed to the development of innovative learning through its participation in the Incentive Program for the Development of Micro-Credential Modules on Online Platforms, organized by the Directorate of Academic Studies and Innovation or Direktorat Kajian dan Invovasi Akademik Universitas Gadjah Mada (DKIA UGM).

One of the modules that has been developed was from the Laboratory of Dairy Livestock and Dairy Industry of Fapet UGM. The laboratorium assistant, Muhammad Rio Rafif, S.Pt., proposed a module entitled “Urban Farming: Urban-Based Pet Goat and Pet Poultry Farming” (“Urban Farming: Beternak Kambing Hias dan Unggas Hias Berbasis Perkotaan”). This module is prepared to provide a practical guide for raising pet animals in a simple and adaptive manner in urban environments. read more

TK Masjid Syuhada Visited the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada

30 students of TK Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta conducted a visitation at the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) on Tuesday (3/2). This visitation is an outing class which is regularly conducted by TK Masjid Syuhada.

Reni, one of the teams from Pusat Pengembangan Ternak (PPT) of the Faculty, stated that ever since September 2025, the educational livestock tour at the Faculty has finally reopened. “For the time being, the Faculty of Animal Science was not accepting visitors due to the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak. However, now it has been reopened,” said Reni. read more

Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada Visited Sato Loka

Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) conducted an outing activity at Sato Loka Educational Wildlife and Livestock Conservation Park located in Hargobinangun, Pakem, Sleman, on Tuesday (27/1). This annual activity, organized by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Animal Science, aims to strengthen the bonds among its members while also providing insights into establishing a family business.

“Through this event, the bonds can be strengthened and at the same time we also gain knowledge in developing a family business. One of them is livestock and wildlife development,” stated the Vice Dean of Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Ir. Andriyani Astuti, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng.  read more

Laboratorium Assistant Team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada Received Competency Development Grant

The Laboratory Assistant team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) successfully received the 2026 Grant for Peningkatan Kompetensi Pranata Laboratorium Pendidikan (PKPLP), organized by the Integrated Laboratory Management of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The program aims to enhance the laboratory assistants competencies, producing both skill-based and written outputs. The program was open to all laboratory assistants of Universitas Gadjah Mada, hoping to advance laboratory assistants competencies both at the university and national levels. read more
