Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM won the 4th place in the medal achivement of the 2018 Porsenigama (Gadjah Mada Sports and Arts Week) after the Faculty of Engineering, Vocational School, and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. FAS UGM won 9 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze in the event.
“Congratulations to the students, coaches, supporters, and sponsors (Student Parents Association) and all the supporting teams of FAS UGM students. It’s really proud since if we compare the number of students (total student body) of FAS UGM which are far less in number with the Vocational School, Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. However, sports and art achievements reach the fourth place after the major faculties,” said Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when contacted via the short message application, Tuesday (4/12).
In addition to these achievements, FAS UGM also won the first place for supporters for The Best Creativity category in Porsenigama 2018.
“To the Ongoligans supporter team, your creativity is so extraordinary that it deserves the first winner of The Best Creativity category supporters. We are proud of all of you, the spirit of Sapta Pesona Diri you have practiced as well as you have proven the credo be better, be the leader, and be the winner. “Great and proud of you all,” said the Dean.
The sports that won gold were men’s singles table tennis, women’s singles table tennis, 400 m men’s athletics, senior dressage riding, show jumping riding, men’s E class martial arts, men’s U-80 kg taekwondo, and softball.
Sports that won silver were football, hockey mix, junior dressage riding, U-80 kg men’s taekwondo, men’s O-80 kg taekwondo, and > 70 kg male.
Sports that won bronze were judo U-60 kg, men’s kumite karate, male karate fukugo, women’s 800 m athletics, men’s volleyball, male U-68 kg taekwondo, female class A martial arts, and male D class martial arts. (Nadia)
