Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM accepted 58 new students of the Animal Science Engineering Study Program in the even semester 2019/2020.
“Animal Sciene Engineering Study Program of FAS UGM is the only livestock engineering study program in Indonesia. The competence of livestock engineers is very necessary because we are responsible for the production of livestock. By attending this study program, students will get an engineer certificate and a professional engineer certificate,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng when giving a remark in the welcoming ceremony of new students, Monday (17/2) at FAS UGM.
The Dean added, the engineer certificate obtained is recognized internationally. In the near future, FAS UGM will also collaborate with the livestock industry in Japan. Thus, engineering study program students can carry out internships in Japan for up to one year.
“Organizing animal science engineering study program is a way to prepare future generations. In terms of human resource development, the country needs a real number of engineers including animal science engineers,” the Dean said.
Head of the Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Zuprizal, DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng said that the 58 new students took the Past Learning Recognition program by 55 people and the regular program by 3 people.
“Regular program for graduates of animal science (minimum 2 years) experience in engineering practice. Meanwhile, the RPL program is for animal science graduates who already have experience in the field of engineering practice for at least 5 years,” Zuprizal said. (Nadia)
