The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM graduated 13 masters and 3 doctors in the graduation period of May 2020. The average GPA of graduates for the master program was 3.8 and the doctoral program was 3.68.
“We congratulate and feel proud, not only to graduates but also to families who have supported and managed to deliver graduates to the highest academic degrees,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng in the graduation ceremony held online on Thursday (4/23).
The Dean added, FAS UGM opened itself if there were graduates of the master program who would continue their studies. FAS UGM has adequate facilities, the qualifications of graduates are also very competitive because they have received national and international quality assurance.
“Don’t forget to always build networks with fellow alumni and lecturers who have been providing guidance. Hopefully this pandemic soon passes and good days come filled with kindness,” said the Dean.
Head of the Master Study Program, Ir. Nafiatul Umami, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM said, the highest GPA of graduates of the master program was 3.93 achieved by Astrid Listia Astrini, S.Pt., M.Sc. and Mohammad Sofiul Anam. The highest GPA of doctoral program graduates was 3.82 achieved by Achadiah Rahmawati, S.Pt., M.Sc.
“With the graduation of 16 graduates today, FAS UGM has graduated 790 masters and 130 doctors. This is a proud thing because more and more alumni are working in the field of animal husbandry,” Nafiatul said.
Chairman of the Alumni Family Faculty of Animal Science (Kapgama), Ir. Achmad Dawami who delivered his remarks through video footage, instructed all graduates to create well by knowing themselves, being sensitive to the environment, caring for others, and dare to take risks.
“The economy in Indonesia during this pandemic is very heavy. One of the tasks of the graduates is to act according to their respective duties in the field of animal science with the hope that the economy will increase again,” Dawami said. (Nadia)
