FAS UGM Graduated 5 Masters and 2 Doctors

In the graduation period of July 2020, the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM graduated 5 Masters and 2 Doctorates. The average GPA for Master’s Program graduates was 3.78 and for Doctoral Program 3.85. Thus, until now the Faculty of Animal Science UGM has graduated 795 Masters and 132 Doctorates.

“The learning process is still needed to deal with the challenges of the times that are increasingly difficult. The presence of graduates from the postgraduate program is expected to be able to solve problems in the livestock industry, such as breeding, production, post-harvest, trade, regulation, and so on,” said Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. FAS UGM Inaugurated 56 Engineers on Animal Science

The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM inaugurated 56 engineers on Tuesday (7/7) at the inauguration period I in 2020. From 56 participants, 1 student came from the regular program and 55 students from the Past Learning Recognition program. The highest GPA from the regular program is achieved by Dr. Ir. Rio Olympias Sujarwanta, S.Pt., M.Sc. namely 4.00 and the highest GPA from Past Learning Recognition program the was achieved by Dr. Ir. Mobius Tanari, MP, which is 3.90.

“The pandemic does not stop you from doing your business so that it has led you to reach the engineering level. With an engineer certificate, you will become a big family of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII),” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. The Dynamics of Beef Cattle Industry During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world order dramatically and massively and has finally affected all sectors. As a result of the pandemic, the agricultural sector grew stagnant in the first quarter (Q1) 2020, which was 0.02%, slowing down from Q1 2019 which still grew by 1.82%.

This was revealed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Animal Husbandry Scholars Association (ISPI), Ir. Didiek Purwanto, IPU in the Obrolan Peternakan (OPERA) organized by the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM on July 3, 2020 through the Zoom Meeting. read more

Livestock Fattening Strategy Towards Eid Al-Adha

Fattening livestock is a concern for breeders, especially before certain moments such as Eid al-Adha. In fattening livestock, optimal feeding is the key to success. This was discussed in the 3rd edition of the Obrolan Peternakan (Opera) on June 20, 2020, presented by the Department of Animal Nutrition and Feed, Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM.

Farmers Must Be Adaptive In The Era Of Innovation And Technology

Currently, digital marketing technology has been widely used in the livestock sector. Therefore, breeders must be adaptive in this era of innovation and technology.

This was revealed in the Obrolan Peternakan (Opera) Saturday, (27/6) with the theme of Digitalization of the Livestock Sector Volume 2 which was held online.

Muhammad Abduh Zulfikar, one of the speakers in the discussion said that now breeders must be able to change the business concept, which requires collaboration with individuals with special specialties who will help companies. read more
