One Doctor and Six Masters Graduated From Faculty of Animal Science UGM

One Doctor and six Masters graduated from Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) in the graduation period of April 2019. FAS UGM held graduation ceremony on Wednesday (24/4) at the Drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium of FAS UGM.

“Congratulations to the graduates. At the moment, the learning pattern at FAS UGM is more encouraging. FAS UGM has increased one infrastructure, namely an international scale research farm in collaboration with PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk. The farm can be used as research activities, one of them is dissertation research,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the graduation ceremony. read more

Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM-JAPFA Officiate Research Farm

Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., officiates Research Farm (Closed House) on Tuesday (23/4) at Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM. The Research Farm is a result of a cooperation between the Faculty and one subsidiary of PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. (JAPFA), PT. Ciomas Adisatwa.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., Dean of the Faculty, said the Research Farm aimed at supporting student research both from undergraduate and graduate programmes. “We hope the presence of Research Farm would increase research at Faculty of Animal Sciences. We aim at achieving the ranks of Best 5 Faculty of Animal Sciences in Asia and Best 10 among tropical countries, “ he said. read more

Indonesia and Australia Cooperate with UGM in Commercial Cattle Breeding Training

Indonesia Australia Red Meat and Cattle Partnership and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have conducted training programme batch 3 for breeding and management of commercial cattle.

This is the first time to be done with UGM but the third done by the Partnership. This time it is followed by 20 participants from Indonesia who are industrial players in slaughter cow, oil palm, and commercial cattle.

The training lasts for three weeks with two weeks being in Indonesia from 1-12 April 2019, including training and field visits to cow breeding models in Java and Kalimantan. The last week will be field visits to farming sites in Queensland Australia from 21-30 April 2019. read more

FAS UGM Establishes Cooperation on Forage Research

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, Cropmark Seeds New Zealand Ltd, and PT New Zealand Livestock Feed Systems Indonesia are collaborating on experiments and joint research on forage crops for livestock. The Memorandum of Agreement letter was signed on Monday (1/4) at the FAS UGM campus.

“The huge forage need is a challenge for us. For this reason, real action is needed to develop grass. This is a good opportunity, thank you for your support. The result of this research has been awaited by end-users (industries),” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the MoA signing. read more

FAS UGM Student Became Ambassadors of Arts and Culture in Ecuador

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Chintia Kusuma Dewi (student batch 2018), became an ambassador for the arts and culture of Boyolali Regency at the Internacional del Foclor Festival on March 1-6 2019 in Ecuador. In the activity organized by the KBRI Quito, Chintia performed Merak dance and Topeng Ireng dance.

“In the parade, we performed group dances which depicted the solidarity and mutual cooperation of the community of Boyolali Regency. Another dance we also performed was Kala Krida Dance and Kusuma Bangsa Dance,” Chintia said in a release sent on Tuesday (3/26). read more
