Faculty of Animal Science UGM and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Monday (August 19) at Faculty of Animal Science. The signing ceremony was attended by the Dean Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., and the Head of the Center for Research on Technology and Food Processing of BRIN’s Agricultural and Food Research Organization, Satriyo Krido Wahono, Ph.D. The focus of the cooperation is research on technology and food processing for the development of processed animal products.
In his remarks, Prof. Budi Guntoro expressed his gratitude for the collaboration. He mentioned that Faculty of Animal Science UGM and BRIN have previously collaborated extensively in the field of research.
“Through this collaborations, we hope to increase the number of publications produced,” said Budi.
In addition to research, the cooperation will also include the sharing of facilities between both parties, guest lectures, and supervision. This will lead to more research output, especially in the areas of animal products and food.
Meanwhile, Satriyo Krido Wahono stated that the collaboration between BRIN and Faculty of Animal Science UGM initially focused on livestock feed and nutrition. However, it will now expand to include food technology and processes.
“Many Faculty of Animal Science UGM alumni are working at BRIN. We hope this cooperation will improve the quality of research,” said Satriyo.
The event continued with a discussion moderated by the Head of the Department of Animal Product Technology, Ir. Rusman, M.P., Ph.D.
