In a visit and discussion held at the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, PT Petrosida Gresik is ready to establish cooperation in the field of animal feed research, especially probiotics and enzymes (11/8).
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation of Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, SPt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM, said that the faculty welcomed this cooperation. “Some probiotic products for livestock have been accepted by the market, such as Burger Feed Sauce (SBP) by Prof. Ali Agus, for cattle fattening. Hopefully, this collaboration can develop products with market strength,” said Prof. Yuny Erwanto.
PT Petrosida Gresik’s Technology & Development Manager, Iffaturrizqiyah, said that research on probiotics needs to be done. “Research that can be commercialized for livestock products, such as probiotics and animal feed, especially enzymes, is very crucial for us because as practitioners, research in these fields is still very limited,” she said.
PT Petrosida Gresik is a subsidiary of PT Petrokimia Gresik, the pioneer of the largest and most complete fertilizer company in Indonesia which was established in 1984 by producing chemical Active Ingredients for agriculture and plantations in Indonesia. PT Petrosida Gresik provides agricultural chemical products (agrochemicals) such as pesticides, fertilizers and chemicals to support the Agrochemical Industry. Currently, PT Petrosida Gresik is also developing Bio Pesticide and Bio Fertilizer products to support the Go Green movement in Indonesia.
Hopefully, this cooperation will be able to help not only the Faculty of Animal Science UGM and PT Petrosida Gresik, but can broadly help livestock breeders for Fapet to foster breeders to develop probiotics through fostered villages. (Secretariat/Prisil)
