The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM held slaughter training of sacrificial animals on Tuesday-Wednesday, August 14-15, 2018 at the FAS UGM Auditorium. The training that is held every year is the 4th training and is attended by the people from DIY and outside DIY.
“Livestock is not only about producing good livestock, but the concept of ASUH (Safe, Healthy, Undamaged, and Halal) must be considered from the beginning,” said Vice Dean for Finance, Assets and Human Resources of FAS UGM, Prof. Ir. I Gede Suparta Budisatria, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU when opening the event. Prof. Gede invited the participants to share knowledge, especially about sacrificial animals slauthering techniques.
Chairman of the FAS UGM Halal Center, Ir. Nanung Danar Dono, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM said that in the training two materials will be presented, namely the fiqh of slaughtering sacrificial animals and handling hygienic sacrificial meat. “Hopefully this activity is useful and becomes a virtuous field of charity for us,” Nanung said when delivering his presentation.
