Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM holds the 3rd batch of Online Halal Class starting on Tuesday (18/8). This activity will be held for 16 meetings.
“Halal class is held to get closer to the source of knowledge with the people who need it. This forum is a bridge that connects the necessary resources with whatever is on the UGM campus. This class has been conducted for a long time. Previously, a lecture program for the general public “Bagimu Petani Kami Mengabdi” was opened which involved many participants interested in the latest knowledge in the field of livestock,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng when opening the first class on Tuesday (18/8).
The Dean added that livestock is very closely related to religious issues, even in the Koran there is an order for Muslims to eat halal and tayib foods.
“For that, sufficient knowledge is needed because without sufficient information we can be wrong, what we eat is not halal, maybe not even tayib. Ir. Nanung Danar Dono, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN. Eng as the speaker will share knowledge and experience including the approaches that need to be taken so that our food is halal and tayib and beneficial,” said the Dean.
The Dean said, because consumer demands were increasing and with the development of halal tourism and the halal industry, the issue of halal haram was becoming a world food trend. In this Halal Class, 978 participants who registered came from various backgrounds and from various regions and countries, namely Indonesia (Java and outside Java) and abroad, namely Jeddah, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, and Brunei Darussalam.
“This is a good opportunity and with the development of technology, during the Covid-19 pandemic we remain productive with the time given by God. Therefore, on behalf of UGM we congratulate you on joining,” concluded the Dean.
