A total of 70 members of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM participated in a dental check-up on Friday (21/6). This event was organized by Integrated Development Post (POSBINDU) Health Promoting University (HPU) Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration withHPU Faculty of Dentistry UGMÂ and dentistry students.
Ir. Andriyani Astuti, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, stated that this was the first time such an event was held and it received a very enthusiastic response from the Faculty members.
“At least 70 participants registered and took part,” said Andriyani.
Andriyani explained that both physical and mental health are serious concerns for the HPU Faculty of Animal Science UGM. Posbindu team, according to Andriyani, has always been at the forefront of controlling, preventing, and managing the physical and mental health of all faculty members.
In addition to dental check-ups, a talk show was also held entitled “Maintaining Dental and Oral Health to Improve the Quality of Life for the Fapet UGM Community.” The event featured drg. Tjut Intan Permata Sari, Sp.P.M., as the source person.
Drg. Intan emphasized that dental and oral care should begin at a young age, even for toddlers. Therefore, babies’ teeth should be cleaned after nursing.
“Our mouths are like the entrance door. Therefore, they must always be in good and clean condition,” Intan advised.
Intan also reminded the community to regularly visit the dentist at least once every six months. She explained how to brush teeth correctly and the importance of choosing appropriate toothbrushes for both children and adults.
