Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM welcomes new Masters and Doctoral Program students for the 2020/2021 academic year on Wednesday (9/9). The welcoming event was held online.
“Welcome and join FAS UGM. The acceptance of all of you as students of the Postgraduate Program should be thanked by being serious in learning. We want the graduates of the Postgraduate Program to have good quality, because the facilities and infrastructure can be utilized, including the depth of competence of lecturers to be used to develop careers,” said Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng when giving a remark at the new student admission event.
The Dean added, there are two achievements that can be achieved by postgraduate students, namely knowledge and networking. Therefore, the Dean suggested that students strengthen their networks even outside the faculty.
“In order for the study to run smoothly, please make a study plan. The Faculty of Animal Science is now also working with industry for students who will carry out more in-depth research. Please arrange the research plan carefully,” said the Dean.
Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN. Eng said, in this academic year, Faculty of Animal Science UGM received 36 Masters Program students and 4 Doctoral Program students.
“The teaching staff of the FAS UGM Postgraduate Program with the title Professor are 32 persons and 32 persons have the Doctorate title. FAS UGM is also equipped with facilities such as the Animal Science Learning Center building, 5 Departments with 14 laboratories, discussion rooms, and so on,” Budi said when presenting academic information in the welcoming ceremony for new students.
Budi added that the Master Program offers five study interests, namely Animal Nutrition and Feed, Animal Production Systems, Animal Husbandry Policy and Business, Animal Product Technology, and Tropical Animal Reproduction and Breeding. Meanwhile, the Doctoral Program also offers five study interests, namely Animal Nutrition and Forage, Animal Production Systems, Livestock-Socio Economics, Animal Product Technology, and Tropical Animal Reproduction and Breeding.
