Currently, digital marketing technology has been widely used in the livestock sector. Therefore, breeders must be adaptive in this era of innovation and technology.
This was revealed in the Obrolan Peternakan (Opera) Saturday, (27/6) with the theme of Digitalization of the Livestock Sector Volume 2 which was held online.
Muhammad Abduh Zulfikar, one of the speakers in the discussion said that now breeders must be able to change the business concept, which requires collaboration with individuals with special specialties who will help companies.
“Farmers must reduce their ego, not everything is done alone. For example, partnering with people who are smart in digital marketing, so that it will produce an efficient business system. The company that we run can eventually exceed the sales target with a solid team,” said an alumni of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM who is the director of PT. Madhar Madhava Manggala and the Kajianmu.
Another speaker, Zaky Achmad (Owner of Portable Goat Cages & Livestock Youtuber), explained the role of digital marketing which can optimize analysis, marketing, campaigns for livestock products, livestock facilities, and livestock support. Zaky uses Youtube to introduce his business, namely services in making portable animal housing since 2016. These efforts are powerful enough to introduce the concept of livestock that he has with a very wide reach of consumers even to various regions in Indonesia.
Satyaguna Rakhmatulloh, a lecturer at FAS UGM who was also a guest speaker in the discussion, explained the response of human resources, especially the millennial generation to face industry 4.0 through technological innovation and the importance of responding and connecting with available market needs. The development of innovation and technology must be used to build a business (start-up).
“Building a business by creating products must be based on community needs or to solve problems. Don’t just develop a product without a basis. The innovation of a problem will result in a sustainable product,” explained Guna, who is a developer and start-up observer.
Satyaguna added, to build innovation amid technological developments so as to achieve optimal potential, the country or the world needs to pay attention to human resources, investment in science and technology (IPTEK), fostering and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and minimizing poverty.
“Start-up development needs to be intensified to build a future economy. This is important because start-ups will help provide employment, create innovation and technology, increase exports, increase welfare distribution, and balance and drive economic growth,” Guna said. (Nadia)
