Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM cooperated with the Agriculture and Fishery Office of Blore Regency in the field of livestock development in Blora Regency. The memorandum of understanding was signed on Friday, 7 February 2020 at FAS UGM.

“Blora Regency is the district with the largest cattle population after Madura which is a local advantage of Blora. Technical matters related to cooperation will be discussed further, one of which is sending UGM students to Blora through the community service program (KKN) to become a leading in the livestock sector. The cattle workshop we developed can also be adopted by Blora,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. Eng, after signing a memorandum of understanding.

The Dean hopes that livestock contest in Blora can be held to select superior breeds. In addition, livestock training for head of the village can also be held.

Blora Vice Regent, H. Arief Rohman, M.Sc, who also presented at the event said that in Blora, cattle are rojo koyo (wealth). For this reason, government of Blora wants to implement a program in the field of livestock that is concrete and useful for the people.

“We hope that from this collaboration there will be an added value for the people’s welfare so that they become more advanced and become a portrait of a good cattle breeding development model,” Arief said. (Nadia)
