Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM graduated 50 bachelors at the graduation period in August 2019. The average GPA in this period is 3.17 with a study period of 5 years and 2 months.

“This graduation is the first step to a higher career. The graduates can imitate the philosophy of cows which ruminate quietly. The message that can be learned is don’t be reactive to a problem,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU. in the graduation graduation ceremony which was held on Thursday (8/23) at the Auditorium Drh. R. Soepardjo FAS UGM.

The Dean advised, in addition to having knowledge in animal science, graduates were also expected to master soft skills, especially those listed in the Sapta Pesona of the FAS UGM. Soft skills are honesty, discipline, responsibility, keep the spirit, critical thinking, manners, and real work.

“On this occasion we also invited representatives from PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa (WMP) as partners of FAS UGM. FAS UGM and PT WMP have established cooperation by organizing Work Based Academy, which is a training program designed to print executives in the field of livestock,” explained the Dean.

PT WMP’s Director, Nur Tjahjo in his remarks said, within 1-4 years PT WMP will become a very large company that spreads in West and Central Java.

“Up to 2024, we have a total man power planning of 6185 with a revenue target of Rp14 Trillion. Therefore, the company will not advance if one chooses and assigns HR. FAS UGM graduates who have joined the WBA program are creative, optimistic, and productive individuals,” Nur Tjahjo explained.

In this period, the best and fastest graduate was achieved by Bella Novita Muktiari with a GPA of 3.80 and a study period of 3 years 11 months 11 days. Thus, until August 2019 FAS UGM has graduated 5310 scholars. (Nadia)
