Eng when giving a remark at the inauguration ceremony, Tuesday (7/7) afternoon at FAS campus which was held online.
The Dean said, the Professional Engineer degree shows the qualifications of engineers in terms of competence and professionalism in the field of animal science. PII has an international network of cooperation in Asia Pacific so that the professional engineer degree has equal qualifications in Asia Pacific countries.
“We have to initiate and prepare a road map for future generations. This needs to be done so that engineers can be more competitive and responsible, especially for the production of animal food products which are vital for development,” said the Dean.
Chairman of the FAS Alumni, Ir. Achmad Dawami, who also gave a remark said that professional engineers are expected to strengthen the world of livestock.
“There are 3 pillars that make Indonesian livestock more competitive, namely the government, universities, and companies. The increase in animal consumption is important because it affects the improvement of human resources,” said Dawami.
Dawami added, in government’s law number 18/2012 states that the state is obliged to realize the availability, affordability, and fulfillment of food consumption that is sufficient, safe, quality, and nutritionally balanced, both at the national and regional levels as well as for individuals equally. Engineers are expected to be able to realize this availability and affordability.
“With the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been changes in the world, one of which is in terms of consumption patterns and technology. We have to be able to keep up with this because the pandemic is accelerating these changes. We must be able to be part of the solution. Once again we congratulate the inaugurated engineers,” said Dawami.
