Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Laksa Ersa Anugratama (student batch 2016), won the Gold Medal in Thailand Inventors’ Day 2019 in the Medicine and Public Health category for his ideas in developing the Meet Pharmy game application. The event took place from 2 to 6 February 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Laksa is a member of the team who initiated the Meet Pharmy game application, chaired by Luh Rai Maduretno Asvinigita (Faculty of Pharmacy). Other members are Lutfiana Pasebhan Jati (remote sensing and geographic information systems of Vocational School UGM), Shinta Diva Ekananda (Faculty of Pharmacy), and Ris Heskiel Najogi Sitinjak (Faculty of Pharmacy).
“In developing the application, I am in charge of the development department, starts from making drawings to coding,” Laksa said when met at FAS UGM Campus on Friday (2/22).
Laksa said, Meet Pharmy is a game application to introduce the pharmacist profession to children, especially children aged 2-14 years.
“So far what is known to children, pharmacists only sell drugs, in fact, pharmacists also mix drugs. In addition, this game application also aims to educate about what to do and what not to do when children are sick,” said Laksa.
Laksa revealed that he has an interest in technology, especially since the start up began to develop in Indonesia.
“In developing the application, I learned from e-books and watching tutorials on the internet,” said the student who is now developing applications about livestock. (Nadia)
