New students are expected to understand the agenda of activities in the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, especially extracurricular. Extracurricular can be chosen according to the interest so that students are ready to become complete scholars. This was revealed by the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when opening the Fapet Expo event on Thursday (16/8) on the campus of FAS UGM. “Students are expected to not only study and attend practicum, but also take extracurricular activities according to their respective interests. Please optimize the lecture time of only 4 years,” said the Dean.

The Dean added, besides mastering technology, it is important for students to join organizations. “From the organization, you will have many friends, you will get the advantage when working. Therefore, please spread your networks across faculties even at the international level,” explained the Dean.

The Dean also advised students to always practice Sapta Pesona Diri. Besides being smart, it is important to develop interactions between people and have good manners.

Organizing the FAS Expo

FAs Expo 2018 is an annual event that is held to display various extracurricular activities at FAS. “This year, the expo takes the theme “La Lumiere”, which in French means light. “As light, this activity is expected to illuminate the path of new students to meet the future,” said Muhammad Faris Al Akram, chairman of the FAS Expo committee. In the expo, new students are welcomed to visit BEM and Semi-Autonomous Boards and ask further questions about the activities carried out. (PR Fapet / Nadia)
