Student debate team from UGM, led by Razif Raihan Rasyid from the Faculty of Animal Science, Class of 2021, won the national environmental debate competition organized by the IKN Authority at Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan, from June 12-14, 2024. In addition to Razif, the UGM debate team included Hasan (Faculty of Geography) and Ana (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences). As a relatively young faculty compared to other faculties at UGM, Faculty of Animal Science UGM continues to push forward and advance education. The results have been fruitful, with various achievements and accolades earned by the Faculty. Faculty of Animal Science UGM is also noted as one of the faculties contributing the most professors at UGM, accounting for 30 percent.

“In terms of age, Fapet is the youngest. We are also among the lower in terms of budget. However, when it comes to achievements, we are not lagging behind,” said the Dean of Fapet UGM, Prof. Ir. A total of 70 members of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM participated in a dental check-up on Friday (21/6). This event was organized by Integrated Development Post (POSBINDU) Health Promoting University (HPU) Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration withHPU Faculty of Dentistry UGM  and dentistry students.

Faculty of Animal Science UGM has distributed a sacrificial cow to a partner village in Ngroto, Girimulyo, Kulon Progo. This distribution has been carried out for the past three years.

“The distribution to the partner village has been conducted for the last three years. We managed to obtain 152 kg of meat from the cow slaughtered there yesterday,” said Tian Jihadhan Wankar, Ir. S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPP, Chairperson of Iduladha 1445 H at Faculty of Animal Science UGM.

He added that for this year’s Iduladha, Faculty of Animal Science UGM slaughtered four cows and five goats. The sacrificial meat will be distributed to external parties in need. This activity aligns with the SDGs goal 2, zero hunger; goal 3, good health and well-being; and goal 17, partnerships for the goals. “The meat will be distributed to communities in need,” he added. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM has established a collaboration with PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam. The cooperation agreement between the two parties was signed by the Dean Faculty of Animal Science  UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng, and the CEO of PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam, Dicky Adiwoso, on Saturday, June 15, at the Auditorium.

In his remark, Budi Guntoro emphasized that the MoU with PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam is a way to bridge the gap between higher education and industry. This initiative aligns with the mandate from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology regarding the “Merdeka Belajar” (Freedom to Learn) policy. read more
