Badminton Team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada Held a Friendly Match with the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Sebelas Maret

The Badminton team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada held a friendly match with the badminton team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Sebelas Maret on Saturday (10/1) at GOR Indoor of the Faculty of Sports Universitas Sebelas Maret. There are 12 teams or 24 players participating in this fun match.

The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., stated that the match is one of the initiations to create Health Promoting University (HPU) of the Faculty. read more

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM held a Waste Management Workshop: Community-Driven Waste Management and Circular Economy in Yogyakarta on Wednesday, December 10ᵗʰ, 2025. This activity is part of the CircuLife–SLI 2025 program, which focuses on community-based waste management and a circular economy.

The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM celebrated the main event of its 56ᵗʰ Anniversary, themed “Enhancing Excellent Human Resources through Livestock-Derived Functional Foods towards Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045)”, at the drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium on Monday (10/11). The event was attended by UGM Rector Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., along with university leadership, faculty members, educational staff, students, and partners. Master’s Student from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science Wins Award at Poultry Science Association Conference in Macau, China

A master’s student from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM has once again achieved distinction on the international stage. Dimas Fakhruddin, S.Pt., received both a Student Travel Award and a Certificate of Excellence at the prestigious 2025 Pacific Rim Scientific Conference, organized by the Poultry Science Association and held from October 13 to 16, 2025, in Macau, China.

During the Student Competition session focused on “Metabolism and Nutrition: General Nutrition”, Dimas presented his research findings titled “Fermented Palm Kernel Meal Modulates Gut Barrier and Inflammatory Gene Expression via Short-Chain Fatty Acid Production in Broilers”. read more

BUMDes Putro Manggolo: The Success Story of Kadilanggon Village in Building a Productive Economy Through Livestock Farming

The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM, in collaboration with the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Putro Manggolo in Kadilanggon Village (Wedi District, Klaten Regency), continues to demonstrate tangible contributions to rural community empowerment through the livestock sector. Supported by a multi-year community service grant from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (specifically the Directorate General of Research and Development) spanning 2023 to 2025, the program has successfully accelerated the transformation of BUMDes into a driver of the productive economy. Simultaneously, it has strengthened Kadilanggon Village’s status as a Food Self-Sufficiency Area, a designation established by the Central Java Provincial Government. read more
