Hundreds of high school and vocational high school students from Central Java and DIY gained new insights in the field of animal science in the Open House Program. The visit of high school and vocational students was held on August 26-28, 2019 at the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM.
This event is one of activities in commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UGM with a total of 233 participants. Some students from West Java also attended the event for they were interested in getting animal science knowledge.
“This event was very inspiring because it gave us insight about the importance of the livestock sector in our lives. To form superior human resources and realize an advanced Indonesia, starting with the fulfillment of equitable nutrition. The livestock sector is a vital sector for the supply of milk, meat and eggs,” said Faiz Al-Ghifari Baedhowi from Al Muttaqin High School Tasikmalaya.
Adi Kurniawan, a student of SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta, revealed that he was very grateful for the knowledge he had gained.
“I am very grateful. The knowledge that I get here is more detailed, which is about raising animals and processing food from livestock. I can teach this to my friends,” he said.
Muhsin Al Anas, S.Pt. as a guest speaker at the Open House event said, the material in the event was emphasized on the preparation of superior human resources for food sovereignty and Indonesia Emas 2045.
“It is hoped that the livestock sector can help prepare the distribution of animal protein food so as to realize the formation of a superior generation,” said Muhsin. (Nadia)
