The Faculty of Animal Science of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) and Toros Farm officially hold a strategic cooperation deal with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday, May 28th 2025. The two party MoU aimed to increase the human resources capacity in the livestock product production sector. This cooperation emphasized on the synergy between academicians and the industry, namely in the organizing of technical training and certification of professional halal butcher.
The Dean of Fapet UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., ASEAN Eng., said that the faculty will give assistance in the form of professional and field supervisor in every training session. “We will prepare lecturers and experienced instructors to ensure that the participants receive adequate theories and practices,” said him. On the other hand, Toros Farm will prepare an on site training facility in order to give a direct and real life working environment for the participants.
The Head of UGM Halal Butcher, Dr. Ir. Endy Triyannanto, S.Pt., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., added that the training and competency test for halal butcher (Juleha) Batch 2 would be the start of the cooperation implementation. “We routinely organize this training process to facilitate the public in getting a nationally accredited certification,” said him.
This event was attended by participants from various regions and age ranges, showing the high enthusiasm of the people towards this competency enhancing program.
