First year students from SMAN 2 Purwokerto conducted a campus visit to the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) on Wednesday (1/4). The activity was accompanied by teacher Wahyudi as part of the school’s efforts to facilitate students’ interest in continuing their education to higher education institutions, particularly UGM.
During the visit, the students received briefings on UGM’s admission selection pathways, as well as a closer introduction to the faculty’s profile, study programs, and the advantages offered by Fapet UGM and other faculties.
Wahyudi stated that this campus study activity is a strategic step to provide students with a tangible picture of university life.
“So far, our students’ interest in continuing their studies to top universities like UGM has been very good and quite high. This is evidenced by our achievements in the SNBP (National Selection Based on Academic Achievement) pathway, where 28 of our students were successfully accepted to UGM,” he stated.
He added that through direct visits to the campus environment, hopefully students will be motivated to prepare themselves early, both academically and non-academically.
“Hopefully, after seeing the campus atmosphere firsthand and obtaining accurate information, students’ enthusiasm for learning will increase and their goals of entering public universities will become more focused,” he added.
Throughout the activity, the students appeared enthusiastic in following every session, including the question-and-answer segment with the speakers. Various questions were raised, ranging from admission pathways and student life to career prospects for graduates after completing their studies.
This visit activity is expected to not only provide insights but also serve as motivation for students to continue achieving and pursue higher education at the best universities in Indonesia.
