The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM served as one of the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) sites for PIONIR Gadjah Mada 2025 (new student orientation program). Conducting the evaluation were the Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA., and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, Dr. Arie Sujito, S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by several faculty leaders.
During the visit, university leaders inspected various locations within the Faculty, including a lecture hall in the ASLC building. They were also shown unpackaged snacks, highlighting the eco-friendly approach adopted for the PIONIR event.
“The Faculty of Animal Science is among the faculties with a highly active Health Promoting University (HPU) team and program; they have implemented eco-friendly lunch arrangements for the PIONIR event,” stated Arie Sujito on Friday (8/8).
As part of its commitment to environmental issues, the Faculty has taken concrete steps to eliminate plastic use during the 2025 PIONIR event, held from August 4 to 9, 2025. All food and beverages provided during the event are free from single-use plastic packaging.
This policy aligns with UGM’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Similar efforts were pioneered in 2024 by the Faculty of Animal Science’s Health Promoting University (HPU) team.
