The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM is once again participating internationally. One of its lecturers, Dr. Ir. Endy Triyannanto, S.Pt., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., had the opportunity to serve as a reviewer and presenter at the 51ˢᵗ International Congress on Science, Technology, and Technology-based Innovation (STT51), held from November 11ᵗʰ – 13ᵗʰ, 2025, at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Themed “Collaboration Across Frontiers: From Quantum and Cosmos to Global Biodiversity”, this event served as a platform for collaboration between global scientists in various fields, including Food Science and Technology. STT51 featured keynote lectures, plenary sessions, and oral and poster presentations from international researchers.
As a presenter, Dr. Endy presented the results of a study entitled “The Effect of X-ray Radiation Dose on the Quality and Shelf Life of Beef Meatballs Stored at Refrigeration Temperature”. This research examined the use of X-ray irradiation technology to extend the shelf life of beef meatballs while maintaining the product’s microbiological, sensory, and physical quality. The results showed that the irradiation sterilization method was able to inhibit bacterial growth for up to 56 days of storage at a 10 kGy dose. “I hope this finding can be an innovative solution for improving food safety and extending the shelf life of processed meat products,” Endy said on Wednesday (19/11).
In addition to presenting, Dr. Endy also served as a reviewer for several scientific papers presented in the Food Science and Technology session, demonstrating his active contribution to maintaining academic quality and encouraging the development of science at the global level.
About STT51
STT51 is an international scientific congress organized by the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and other strategic partners. Originally known as The Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand since 1971, STT has evolved into an international forum that brings together scientists, researchers, and academics from various disciplines to share knowledge, innovation, and build global collaborations.
This year, STT51 was held to commemorate the 50ᵗʰ anniversary of Thailand-China diplomatic relations and the 70ᵗʰbirthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The event featured keynote lectures by world-renowned scientists, thematic symposiums, innovation exhibitions, and special sessions such as the Young Rising Stars of Science (YRSS) to encourage young people to play an active role in scientific development.
