The Indonesia Australia Red Meat and Cattle Partnership is again holding a “Small Scale Commercial Cattle Farming Business Management Training” in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada and the Faculty of Animal Science, Hasanuddin University. This training was held in Makassar on 24 – 29 July 2023. The target participants in this training were farmers in Kalimantan and Sulawesi with a minimum number of private ownerships of 10 head of cattle and who were commercially oriented. read more

Graduate Students of Faculty of Animal Science UGM took part in The 4^th International Joint Graduate Seminar in Malaysia on July 17, 2023. The International Joint Graduate Seminar or IJGS is an annual program held by the Graduate program of Faculty of Animal Science UGM). IJGS has been running for four years and in 2023 it is collaborating with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for the second time. The 4th IJGS 2023 was attended by UGM and UPM participants with a total of 43 participants.

The 4^th IJGS 2023 was opened with remarks by Prof. Lho Teck Chwen as Dean Faculty of Agriculture UPM. In his remarks, he conveyed the potential for this IJGS activity. “Seminar is a good activity in exchanging information about innovative research topics. In addition, the future potential can attract sponsorship to support the smooth running of further activities. Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration with Global Food Partners and AERES University of Applied Science, The Netherlands, successfully held the International Training on Cage-free Innovation and Welfare Hub for the first time on 9 – 15 July 2023. International Training on Cage-free Innovation and Welfare Hub is a training for academics to learn the practice of cage-free farming system. These pilot cage and training centers are open not only to domestic academics, but also to those from abroad. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM successfully held The 7th Summer Course Program on 10 – 21 July 2023. Apart from being held offline, some participants can also take part in this activity online via Zoom. Carrying the theme Challenges and Opportunities for Livestock and Agricultural Production in Responding to the Issue of the Global Food Crisis, this year’s Summer Course was attended by 56 participants from countries in Asia, namely China, South Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste, Afghanistan, Sudan, Vietnam, and Indonesia. read more

Started construction in mid-2022, the International Training Center Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub has been completed and inaugurated on June 16, 2023. The International Training Center (ITC) Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub is a training center for the management of cage-free laying hens established by the Faculty of Animal Science UGM in collaboration with Global Food Partners and AERES University of Applied Sciences Netherlands. Besides being a training facility, the ITC Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub also features a model farm for egg production with a cage-free system, capable of housing 3000 hens. Located in Kalijeruk Village, Ngemplak District, Sleman Regency, DIY, the ITC Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub is the first cage-free system model in ASEAN. read more
