Preventing Stunting, Dharma Wanita UGM Promotes Egg and Milk Nutrition

The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM promoted the nutrition of milk and eggs Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to prevent and overcome stunting on Thursday (27/2) at SPS Kuncup Melati, Santren and SPS Mutiara Hati, Karangmalang, Sleman.

FAS UGM Graduates 75 Bachelor of Undergraduate Study Programs

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM graduated 75 undergraduate students in the February 2020 graduation period. In the graduation period, 13 graduates were awarded the cumlaude predicate. The best graduate award was achieved by Revita Stefani Hasibuan with a GPA of 3.84.

“We should be grateful that we succeeded in delivering students to graduate. We have provided students with science, technology and soft skills. After graduating, you can continue your study in an engineer or graduate study program,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. KAPGAMA, Aligning the Role of FAS UGM Alumni to Build Human Resources

Alumni of the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) including alumni of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM must mutually align roles to develop human resources (HR). Especially for those who have occupied positions as policy makers and decision makers in their respective institutions.

FAS UGM Receives 58 New Students in Animal Science Engineering Study Program

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM accepted 58 new students of the Animal Science Engineering Study Program in the even semester 2019/2020.

“Animal Sciene Engineering Study Program of FAS UGM is the only livestock engineering study program in Indonesia. The competence of livestock engineers is very necessary because we are responsible for the production of livestock. By attending this study program, students will get an engineer certificate and a professional engineer certificate,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., ASEAN. The Increasing Career Opportunities in the Poultry Industry

In 2019, the contribution of the agricultural sector to GDP is 14.10% while the national poultry population (broilers) is 87% with a growth of 7% per year. Thus, it can be interpreted that the poultry industry is experiencing an increase eventhough the agricultural sector is under pressure. There is a shift in consumption patterns of livestock products in the community, especially chicken and egg products.

The poultry industry, especially broiler chickens, will continue to grow to meet the community needs of the animal protein, along with the increasing incomes, population growth, and public awareness related to the nutritional and health value of chicken meat. Economic dynamics and animal diseases have implications for the importance of using technology for the cultivation process, in order to produce products that are more efficient, productive and of high quality. read more
