FAS UGM Sends Jury Team In The Gelar Potensi Peternakan Kabupaten Bantul 2019

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM sent jury team in the Gelar Potensi Peternakan Kabupaten Bantul 2019 held on Wednesday (24/7) at the Imogiri Bantul Market. The event was held in collaboration with the Bantul Regency’s Agriculture, Food, Maritime and Fisheries Department, FAS UGM, the Indonesian Arts Institute, Bantul Regency’s Tourism Department, PERKKANAS, and the Guyub Rukun Cattle Cart Community.

“FAS UGM sent three judges, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumadi, M.S., IPU (jury coordinator of the PO Cattle contest), Ir. Yuni Suranindyah, M.S., Ph.D., IPM (jury coordinator of the PE Goat contest), and Ir. Panjono, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM (jury member of the cattle cart contest),” said Akhmad Fathoni, S.Pt., M.Sc. as the coordinator of the committee from the FAS UGM. read more

Two Postgraduate Students of FAS UGM Graduated

Two graduates of the postgraduate program of Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) had graduation ceremony on Wednesday (24/7) at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM. The two graduates consisted of 1 graduate of the Master’s Program and 1 graduate of the Doctoral Program.

“The average GPA of Master Program graduates is 3.74, higher than the average of UGM, which is 3.65. The average GPA of Doctoral Program graduates was 3.86, higher than the average of UGM, which was 3.78. With the graduation of the two Postgraduate students, FAS UGM has graduated 762 Masters and 122 Doctors,” said the Head of the Doctoral Study Program of FAS UGM, Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM at the graduation ceremony at the Faculty of Animal Science on Wednesday afternoon. read more

UGM Sends Delegations at SEARCA University Consortium Philippines

Universitas Gadjah Mada participated in the SEARCA University Consortium (UC) Faculty Forum held at Los Banos, Philippines on July 23-25 ​​2019.

The event was the first forum held by SEARCA and the University of the Philippines Los Banos as the host. This forum is a follow-up meeting of one of the points produced in the 31st SEARCA Executive Board Meeting which took place at UGM on November 13-14, 2018.

The activity was attended by around 90 people from various world universities which are SEARCA members. Raising the theme “Responding to the Challanges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, this activity became an arena for exchanging research ideas and building cooperation strategies for members of SEARCA University Consortium. read more

UGM Enhances Education and Research Collaboration with Maejo University

Universitas Gadjah Mada and Maejo University, Thailand, have signed an agreement to enhance education and research.

Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding was done by Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., Ph.D., and Acting President of Maejo University, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, at UGM on Tuesday (23/7). The agreement covers exchange of student, staff, and lecturer, as well as collaboration in staff development and research.

Weerapon Thongma said the agreement signing was to extend and expand the collaboration already in place with UGM. read more

Students from 8 Countries Join Animal Science UGM Summer Course

As many as 26 students from 8 countries attended the 4th Summer Course Program: Integrated Food Security in ASEAN at Faculty of Animal Science UGM from 22-31 July 2019.

Students from Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Timor Leste, and Ethiopia will learn along with Indonesian students about food security in ASEAN.

Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., said the summer course was expected to be a forum for these students to exchange views and experience particularly in farming. This was important to do remembering the current world condition related to food security. read more
