Faculty of Animal Science UGM has established a collaboration with PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam. The cooperation agreement between the two parties was signed by the Dean Faculty of Animal Science  UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng, and the CEO of PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam, Dicky Adiwoso, on Saturday, June 15, at the Auditorium.

In his remark, Budi Guntoro emphasized that the MoU with PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam is a way to bridge the gap between higher education and industry. This initiative aligns with the mandate from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology regarding the “Merdeka Belajar” (Freedom to Learn) policy. read more

Weeds in pastures have long been considered detrimental to livestock productivity, whether directly or indirectly. Typically, pasture weeds are unpalatable, woody, and/or toxic plants. Legetan is one such example. Known scientifically as Synedrella nodiflora, it goes by various local names, including Babadotan Lalaki, jukut berak kambing, jukut gendreng, bruwan, gletang warak, krasuk, serunen, and gofumakeang.

However, according to Prof. Ir. Bambang Suwignyo, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., a lecturer at the UGM Faculty of Animal Science, legetan is a beneficial weed for livestock feed because of its high nutritional value. read more

The Animal Science Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember (Unej), is exploring a collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM. This initiative was marked by a visit from several lecturers from the University of Jember’s Animal Science program to the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM on Monday (27/5). The delegation was led by Dr. Ir. Nur Widodo, S.Pt., M.Sc., Chair of the Guidance Commission for the Animal Science Study Program, and was received by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., along with other faculty leadership members. read more

Centre for Livestock Development Studies (PKPP) Faculty of Animal Science UGM organised the 2024 Small Scale Commercial Cattle Business Management Training programme. The training was held in Yogyakarta from 21 – 23 April 2024. The target participants in this training are farmers throughout Indonesia who have or are still planning commercially oriented cattle farms.

The registration process started from 25 March – 5 April 2024. The total number of applicants for this training came from 10 provinces in Indonesia. The overall series of selection activities included registration, administrative selection, and then the announcement of training participants. A total of 13 people were selected as participants with a composition of 11 men and 2 women. All participants attended a series of trainings delivered by academics and practitioners who are competent in their fields. read more

137 Students from SMAN 10 Bogor Visit the UGM Faculty of Animal Science

A total of 137 students from SMAN 10 Bogor visited the Faculty of Animal Science on Tuesday (14/5). They were welcomed at the drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium. Accompanied by six teachers, the students enthusiastically participated in the event, asking questions about admission procedures and tips for getting accepted into UGM.

Yusni Eka Meilani, one of the accompanying teachers, stated that the visit to the UGM Faculty of Animal Science was part of a campus orientation program designed to broaden the students’ horizons and knowledge regarding higher education, specifically at UGM. UGM is a university that attracts significant interest from high school students looking to pursue higher education and receive a quality education. read more
