FAS UGM Graduated 60 Undergraduate Students

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM graduated 60 undergraduate students in the November 2018 graduation period. The average GPA was 3.32 with an average study period of 4 years 7 months and as many as 19 graduates achieved cum laude predicate.

This was stated by the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark at the graduation ceremony on Thursday (11/22) at the Drh. Auditorium. R. Soepardjo.

“Congratulations to the graduates. After graduating, students can continue their studies to master’s level or start a career, either by working for institutions or creating their own jobs. There are many career opportunities in the field of animal science. For graduates who will be an entrepreneur, students have also been provided with entrepreneurial skills. “Laboratory facilities at FAS UGM are complete and have industry nuances,” said the Dean. read more

FAS UGM Graduated 46 Animal Industry Engineers

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) graduated 46 animal industry engineers who are the members of the Past Learning Recognition (RPL) Professional Engineer Program in Animal Industry (PSPPIP). The inauguration was held on Tuesday (6/11) at the Balai Senat of Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Muhammad Amirul Bahaudin, The First Most Outstanding Student of FAS UGM In 2018

After going through a series of selection stages, Muhammad Amirul Bahaudin, a class of 2016 student, was chosen as an outstanding student (Mapres) of the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM 2018.

“Thank God, through this event I want to be a human being who can spread more benefits so that children in remote areas are more enthusiastic about school and achievement,” he said when contacted via short message application on Thursday (1/11). The student who was born in Ngawi, September 18, 1997, was selected as an outstanding student after presenting his scientific paper entitled Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) to Identify SNPs Associated with Carcass Weight Traits in Indonesian Belgian Blue. read more

Creating an Environmentally Friendly Batik Waste Management System, FAS UGM Students Won Second Place in the Community Work Competition

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) students, Firman Dwi Dewanto (class of 2017), won 2nd place in the Community Works Competition IV 2018 organized by the Solo Raya Unsoed Alumni Family on September 9, 2018 for their ideas on fish scales waste management as a solution to batik waste ink pollution. Firman collaborated with his colleagues from the Faculty of Biology, namely Giyantolin, Alfianto, and Ilzam Shadik Maulidi.

“Our work is entitled  “Processing Fish Scales Waste as a Solution of Batik Ink Pollution Based on Green Chemistry through a Stratified Filter”. We write this work because the batik industry owners have not found their batik waste treatment solution. Chitosan from fish scales is an adsorbent that is not harmful to the environment that can be a solution to these problems,” said Firman when being intewed at the FAS UGM Campus, Monday (10/29). read more

Korean Students: Practicum at FAS UGM Is Good

Two Kangwon National University (KNU) students, Korea, Doyoung Kim and Jun Gyu Choi, are currently taking a student exchange program at the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM during the odd semester of 2018/2019 school year. Both were impressed with the practicum at FAS UGM.

“One thing that is very different from our campus is practicum. In my opinion, the practicum at FAS UGM is good. There is no practicum at my campus,” Doyoung said when being interviewed at the FAS UGM campus on Friday (10/26). Both of them said that the practicum makes them study harder because they had to take the pre-test and post-test. read more
