FAS UGM Students Won Art International Competition

Student of Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, student year 2015, Johan Indrajaya, made UGM proud at the international level through Acehnese arts. Together with the UGM Acehnese Arts Community (SAKA), Johan attended the 11th International Competition and Festival of Folklore, Dance and Music “Etoiles De Paris” “in Paris, France on May 3-6 2018. In the event, SAKA UGM became Grand Pix Winner.

“I am very pleased and proud to be one of the delegations of representatives from Indonesia, especially UGM, who has taken an active role in international competitions to improve the professionalism of UGM students and to score achievements to make Indonesia proud,” said Johan. In the event, the SAKA team consisting of male and female dancers performed two combined dances, namely the Rapa’i Geleng and Ratoeh Jaroe dances. The UGM team successfully defeated 45 teams from 13 countries. read more

Animal Sciences Faculty UGM Collaborate with Nagan Raya and Charoen Pokphand

Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the regency government of Nagan Raya in the Faculty’s conference room on Monday (23/7). Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Agus and Regent M. Djamin Idham did the signing that focuses on animal husbandry development in Nagan Raya.

T. Kamaruddin, Head of Agriculture and Farms Agency of Nagan Raya, said most of 150 thousand residents of Nagan Raya occupied oil palm agriculture works. “With this cooperation, I hope the animal farming in Nagan Raya that is still not exposed can progress as never seen before,” he said. read more

12 Masters and 1 Doctor Graduate from Faculty of Animal Science UGM

12 Masters and 1 Doctor graduated from the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM in the July 2018 graduation period. The average GPA of the Master Program was 3.77 with an average study period of 2 years 1 month. Meanwhile, the average GPA of the Doctoral Program was 3.63 with an average study period of 3 years and 9 months.

This was stated by the Head of the Doctoral Study Program of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Prasetyo Widyobroto, DESS., DEA., IPU in the graduation ceremony on Thursday (7/19) at the FAS Auditorium. “The best graduate is achieved by Awistaros Angger Sakti with a GPA of 3.99. With the graduation of these graduates, up to now FAS UGM has graduated 744 masters and 117 doctors,” Budi said. read more

Strong Will Is The Main Requirement To Study Abroad

Strong will is the main requirement to attend doctorate study program abroad. Besides, a good capability in English is an important knowledge.

It was said by the Head of Office of International Affairs (OIA) Dr. Ir. Endy Triyannanto, S.Pt., M.Eng., Ph.D. in Ngabuburit Bareng Pasca, Thursday (31/5) attended by Posgraduate Student Association at the Faculty of Animal Science UGM. “Based on my experience during the doctorate program in Korea, the first and prominent requirement is a strong will,” Endy said. English is also important for academic and non academic need. “I suggest you to improve your English skill as a knowledge to study abroad,” Endy explainesd. read more

Faculty of Animal Science To Build Animal Science Learning Center

To develop the science with adequate facility, Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is going to build Animal Science Learning Center (ASLC), a five-floor building equipped with high technology laboratory equipment.

It was said by Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU, Friday (8/6) in UGM after signing documents on building specification proposal and equipment through JICA IP-567 scheme. “FAS has a vision to be one of the best animal science faculties in Asia. Therefore, we have to keep developing ourself both in the science and facilities since the two things should support each other,” the Dean said. read more
