Small Scale Commercial Cattle Farming Business Management Training Batch 5

Entering the 5th Batch, the Small Scale Commercial Cattle Farming Business Management Training was again held on 13 – 19 March 2023 at Eastparc Hotel Yogyakarta & Fave Hotel Kediri. This training was organized in collaboration with the UGM Faculty of Animal Science and the Indonesia-Australia Red Meat and Cattle Partnership and has been going on since 2015 and is still ongoing today.

The training program will be highly focused on equipping smallholders with the technical and financial aspects of livestock business management which will enable them to carry out commercial and profit-oriented livestock production. The outcomes of this training are to: improve the commercial aspects of smallholder livestock business operations through good management practices that lead to more profitable businesses. read more

UGM Faculty of Animal Science UGM and AERES University of Applied Science Establish Research and Internship Collaboration

As a follow-up to the signing of the MoU between Universitas Gadjah Mada and AERES University of Applied Science in 2022, Faculty of Animal Science UGM are ready to realize collaboration in the field of research and internships for both staff and students. During her visit  to the Faculty of Animal Science UGM (13/3), Prof. Wil Bekkering, as the Director of International Strategy at AERES University of Applied Science, said that the collaboration could be even broader in the field of international exposure for students. “AERES is basically a vocational institution, so it can be a place for internships for students and staff. Also, being able to work together in the field of training such as the cage-free training center owned by Faculty of Animal Science UGM. Meet and Greet Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) Batch 5

Dean of  Faculty of Animal Science UGM attended the Meet and Greet Program Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) Batch 5, 2023 invitation at the Holiday Inn Hotel Kemayoran Jakarta (4/3). In this event, CPBSA Batch scholarship recipients gathered and shared experiences regarding the programs that had been implemented.

CPBSA is a scholarship from PT Charoen Pokphand which is given to final year students from various majors and universities in Indonesia through strict selection.

As a follow-up to this activity, the participants and invited guests took part in a comparative study and visited the international exhibition in the livestock industry VIV Asia 2023 in 5 – 10 March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. (Secretariat/Prisil) read more

Numbers of Students Graduated from Faculty of Animal Science UGM

A total of 107 students from the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada(UGM) officially graduated at the Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony for the second period of the 2022/2023 academic year at Grha Sabha Pramana (22/2). This is the highest number of graduates since the establishment of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM in 1969. After the ceremony at GSP, the graduates attended a thanksgiving and farewell event at the ASLC Building, Faculty of Animal Science UGM.

The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence for entering the workforce after completing undergraduate studies in his speech. “Emotional intelligence can be developed by actively participating in organizations during your time as a student. This means that the more you interact with many people, the more emotionally mature you become and less prone to overthinking. Inauguration of Nurul Fikri Mosque: The Mosque is a Meeting Place for Young Intellectuals, Lecturers, and Professors with the Community

Reconstructed starting in 2021, Nurul Fikri Mosque of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM was inaugurated by the DeanFaculty of Animal Science UGM, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Assets, and Information Systems UGM (21/2). First renovated in 1995 from a prayer room at the Faculty of Animal Science, Nurul Fikri Mosque needed further development to accommodate the increasing number of academic members at the Faculty of Animal Science UGM.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., stated that the construction of the mosque and other facilities was carried out to support the vision and mission of the Faculty. “At the Faculty of Animal Science UGM, not only the mosque is built but also representative sports facilities, in line with the vision and mission of the Faculty of Animal Science, which is to produce graduates who are not only intelligent but also physically healthy and morally upright,” explained Prof. Budi Guntoro. read more
