Faculty of Animal Science UGM and Bank Indonesia Promote Halal Industry Development

Faculty of Animal Science UGM, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) of Yogyakarta Province, continues to promote the development of halal industry in Yogyakarta. One of their initiatives is a collaborative training program for Halal Slaughter Experts (Juleha), held on June 26-27, 2024, at Faculty of Animal Science UGM.

The Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at Fapet UGM, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM., stated that this training is the second batch.

“There are around 13 participants from 5 to 6 business units, including slaughter house for cattle and  chicken (RPA and RPH). The first batch had a similar number of participants,” Yuny explained during his opening remarks. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM Strengthens Collaboration with AERES University of Applied Science

Faculty of Animal Science UGM continues to enhance its collaboration with Aeres University of Applied Science (AUAS). This follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed upon by both parties in 2022.

On Monday (June 24), a representative from Aeres University, Daan Westrik, visited Faculty of Animal Science UGM to continue academic discussions, particularly regarding the internship program.

The academic discussion at Faculty of Animal Science UGM was led by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Ir. Yuny Erwanto, S.Pt., MP., Ph.D., IPM, and the Head of the International Affairs Office at Fapet UGM, Prof. Ir. Dyah Maharani, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM, and attended by several other faculty members. read more

CDEC Faculty of Animal Science UGM – PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk Conducts Recruitment

Career Development and Entrepreneur Center (CDEC) Faculty of Animal Science UGM, in collaboration with PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk, conducted a recruitment session for Production Supervisors on Tuesday (June 25). These positions will be located in West Java, Central Java, Makassar, Sumatra, and Lombok.

The Chair of Career Development and Entrepreneur Center Faculty of Animal Science UGM, Viagian Pastawan, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that 30 participants attended the recruitment session. They came from the Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Tidar, Universitas Mercu Buana, and the Yogyakarta Agricultural Development Polytechnic. read more

UGM Student Team Wins National Environmental Debate Competition

Student debate team from UGM, led by Razif Raihan Rasyid from the Faculty of Animal Science, Class of 2021, won the national environmental debate competition organized by the IKN Authority at Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan, from June 12-14, 2024. In addition to Razif, the UGM debate team included Hasan (Faculty of Geography) and Ana (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences). The competition consisted of four stages: essay selection, online preliminary rounds, and the semifinal and final rounds at Mulawarman University. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM Commits to Advancing Education

As a relatively young faculty compared to other faculties at UGM, Faculty of Animal Science UGM continues to push forward and advance education. The results have been fruitful, with various achievements and accolades earned by the Faculty. Faculty of Animal Science UGM is also noted as one of the faculties contributing the most professors at UGM, accounting for 30 percent.

“In terms of age, Fapet is the youngest. We are also among the lower in terms of budget. However, when it comes to achievements, we are not lagging behind,” said the Dean of Fapet UGM, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., during a hearing with students on Friday (June 21). read more
