Muhammad Dicky Mandiri Nasution, a student from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM’s Doctoral Program, received the valuable opportunity to conduct part of his dissertation research as a visiting researcher in the University of Miyazaki, Japan. This program is part of the International Publication Quality Improvement Program or Program Peningkatan Kualitas Publikasi Internasional (PKPI), organized by the Directorate of Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, specifically for students receiving Master’s to Doctoral Education for Outstanding Graduates scholarships or Pendidikan Magister menuju Doktor untuk Sarjana Unggul (PMDSU).

The Leadership of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM conducted an academic visit to Taiwan from December 2ⁿᵈ – 6ᵗʰ, 2025. The delegation consisted of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., and the Vice Dean for Assets, Finance, and Human Resources, Ir. Andriyani Astuti, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng. The main activities included participation in the 2026 X Agriculture Forum at National Taiwan University (NTU), an academic discussion at the Lee-Ming Institute of Technology, and an industrial visit to Grape King Bio Ltd.
The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM held a Waste Management Workshop: Community-Driven Waste Management and Circular Economy in Yogyakarta on Wednesday, December 10ᵗʰ, 2025. This activity is part of the CircuLife–SLI 2025 program, which focuses on community-based waste management and a circular economy.
The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., in his remarks emphasized that this waste management program aligns with the goals of UGM’s Health Promoting University (HPU).
The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM once again carried out its tradition of distributing free chicken eggs to students taking the Odd Semester Final Exam or Ujian Akhir Semester (UAS) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The final exam took place from Monday (8/12) to Tuesday (16/12). Approximately 1,900 eggs were distributed during the exam period.
The Head of the Administration Office of the Faculty, Nurma Diani, S.Pd., MBA., explained that this program, which has been running for the past few years, demonstrates the faculty’s care for student welfare.
The Community Service Team or Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Pengabmas) of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, led by Prof. Nurliyani, conducted a dissemination activity on dairy processing technology in Kemiri, Purwobinangun Village, Pakem District in 2025. This activity, funded by the 2025 Community Service Grant Competition of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, aims to strengthen the downstreaming of post-harvest technology in local dairy farming businesses and to create business opportunities based on local potential.
