UGM Faculty of Animal Science UGM and AERES University of Applied Science Establish Research and Internship Collaboration

As a follow-up to the signing of the MoU between Universitas Gadjah Mada and AERES University of Applied Science in 2022, Faculty of Animal Science UGM are ready to realize collaboration in the field of research and internships for both staff and students. During her visit  to the Faculty of Animal Science UGM (13/3), Prof. Wil Bekkering, as the Director of International Strategy at AERES University of Applied Science, said that the collaboration could be even broader in the field of international exposure for students. “AERES is basically a vocational institution, so it can be a place for internships for students and staff. Also, being able to work together in the field of training such as the cage-free training center owned by Faculty of Animal Science UGM. Meet and Greet Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) Batch 5

Dean of  Faculty of Animal Science UGM attended the Meet and Greet Program Charoen Pokphand Best Student Appreciation (CPBSA) Batch 5, 2023 invitation at the Holiday Inn Hotel Kemayoran Jakarta (4/3). In this event, CPBSA Batch scholarship recipients gathered and shared experiences regarding the programs that had been implemented.

CPBSA is a scholarship from PT Charoen Pokphand which is given to final year students from various majors and universities in Indonesia through strict selection.

As a follow-up to this activity, the participants and invited guests took part in a comparative study and visited the international exhibition in the livestock industry VIV Asia 2023 in 5 – 10 March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. (Secretariat/Prisil) read more

Faculty of Animal UGM Held A Generale Lecture on Biosecurity

Students of Faculty of Animal Science UGM enthusiastically took part in a public lecture on the topic of Biosecurity which was held at the Auditorium drh. R. Supardjo (28/2). The resource person in this public lecture is a team from the Northern Territory, Australia. This activity is part of The Indonesia-Northern Territory Biosecurity Program, which is a cooperation program between Indonesia and the Northern Territory Government, Australia in the field of biosecurity that has been implemented since 2012. Discussing the Welfare of Layer Poultry, Faculty of Animal Science UGM Held Training of Trainers for Cage-free and Welfare Hub

Along with the increasing consumption of eggs due to population growth, causing breeders to find ways to maximize livestock productivity. One of the laying hen farming techniques commonly used so far is the battery-cage farming system where the livestock can move freely in the cage. In addition to this system, there is now a new system that allows poultry to move more freely, namely the cage-free farming system. Cage-free farming system does not use cages, thus allowing livestock to live like in the wild according to their natural habitat. In developed countries, poultry farmers have started to switch to using the cage-free system because it is considered to be pro-animal welfare. read more

Career Preparation Training for Students

To increase the capacity of graduates, the Faculty of Animal Science UGM organized a Career Preparation Training at the Auditorium drh. R. Soepardjo for students (22/12). This activity is part of the Independent Campus Competition (PKKM) series which aims to prepare graduates for their future career.

The resource person in this training is a professional trainer from PT Engineering Career Center. The hope is that this training can be a provision for graduates of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM to work as entrepreneurs. (Secretariat/Prisil) read more
