Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM Emphasizes the Importance of Publications in Strengthening Institutional Reputation 

Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of effective website and social media management in strengthening the institution’s reputation. He delivered this message during the opening of the Workshop on Enhancing Website and Social Media Management on Wednesday (23/4).

Prof. Budi reminded participants that every member of the Fapet UGM community, including lecturers, administrative staff, students, and alumni, serves as a representative of the faculty’s public relations efforts. read more

Graduate Student Association of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM Promotes Scientific Publication Through an International Guest Lecture  

The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), through its Graduate Student Association, once again organized an inspiring academic event by hosting Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar from Maejo University as an international guest lecturer. Recognized among the top 2% of researchers in Thailand, Dr. Prakash has an extensive publication record in internationally reputable Q1 journals. The event formed part of Fapet UGM’s strategic efforts to strengthen the capacity of graduate students, particularly in scientific writing and publishing in internationally recognized journals. read more

KMK and PMK of Faculty of Animal Science UGM Hold “Kristen Berbagi” at a Nursing Home 

Keluarga Maahasiswa Katolik (Catholic Student Association, or KMK) and Persekutuan Mahasiswa Kristen (Christian Student Fellowship, or PMK) of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), jointly organized a community outreach program titled Kristen Berbagi (Krisber) on April 11, 2026, at Tresna Werda Nursing Home. Held during the Easter season, the initiative reflected the students’ commitment to sharing love, compassion, and joy with others.

The program began with a donation drive that welcomed contributions from people of all religious backgrounds. Through this initiative, the organizing committee aimed to foster a spirit of generosity while strengthening the relationship between the student organizations and the wider community. read more

Stepping Away from the Noise of the World, Rekindling Awareness of the Hereafter  

The Takmir of Nurul Fikri Mosque at the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), held its monthly Islamic study session on Thursday (9/4), featuring Ustaz Syatori Abdulrauf as the speaker. Centered on the theme “Stepping Away from the Noise of the World”, the session invited participants to reflect on the direction of their lives, which are often consumed by the distractions and busyness of worldly pursuits.

In his session, Ustaz Syatori emphasized the importance of cultivating an awareness of the Hereafter in everyday life. He explained that the quality of a person’s life is largely shaped by the mindset and values that dominate their heart. read more

Faculty of Animal Science UGM Builds Capacity Among Livestock Farmers, 585 Participants Attend Technical Training on Goat and Sheep Farming

Efforts to improve the quality of smallholder livestock farming continue to be strengthened through collaboration between universities and regional governments. The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) has once again demonstrated its strategic role by organizing a technical training (Bimtek) on goat and sheep cultivation and breeding, attended by hundreds of farmers from the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The event, held at the 2nd-floor auditorium of Fapet UGM on Saturday (4/4), drew 585 farmers from 117 farmer groups. The training will run in phases until May 17, 2026, as part of a broader program to improve the availability and quality of livestock seed stock and feed, a mandate under provincial government authority. read more
