Livestock Industry Prospects in Government Perspective

The increasing population of Indonesia and the increasing urbanization flow to 6.6% in 2035 has the potential to reduce the number of food producers in rural areas. This will be a challenge for the development of the livestock industry in Indonesia, considering the world’s food needs will increase by 60% due to population growth.

“The population of cattle and buffalo during the period 2010-2014 continues to increase. The Importance of Sustainable Community Empowerment

Indonesia as a large archipelago with an area of ​​192 million Ha has 80% of small farmers who own land less than 1 ha and 28 million households with 11.1 million have no land. FAS UGM Students Win the Best Poster Award at National Scientific Writing Competition

Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM student, Laksa Ersa Anugratama, won the best poster award at the KMP UNHAS Scipertion PSP National Scientific Writing Competition held on September 14-15, 2018 with the theme on independent fisheries and marine sector. Together with Lutfiana Pasebhan Jati from the study program of Remote Sensing Study and Geography Information System UGM, Laksa presented a poster entitled “Geospatial Information System Utilization Based on” SACOREEF WEBGIS “as a Coral Reef Conservation Effort in Order to Achieve Sustainable Maritime Development”. read more

Postgraduate Students of FAS UGM Won Best Paper Award in International Agro Industry Conference

Postgraduate Program Students of Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM, Hamdani Maulana, successfully won the best paper award at the International Conference on Green Agro-Industry and Bioeconomy (ICGAB) in Universitas Brawijaya, September 18-19, 2018.

“The article I presented about the potential use of oil palm plantations as a cattle grazing area. So far, oil palm plantations are still considered as an agro-industry sector that reduces national forest land area and has an impact on land biodiversity reduction, which has caused conflict and rejection from several parties,” Hamdani said. read more

FAS UGM Offers Work-Based Academy Program to Alumni
