FAS UGM Offers Work-Based Academy Program to Alumni

In order to bridge the academic world and the working world, the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM offers a work-based academic program to its alumni. Participants who pass the selection will be placed in the partner company for an internship for 3 months.

“We call this program learn to work, the concept is to improve the skills of alumni. Through this program, we try to bring the academic and industrial world closer so that alumni have the provision when working or when they are in entrepreneurship,” said the Dean of the FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU when giving a remark in the graduation ceremony, Wednesday (29/8) at the Drh. R. Soepardjo Auditorium of FAS UGM. read more

UGM Students Win ASEAN Youth Conference 2018

Three Animal Sciences students of UGM have won Best of The Best Paper and Presenter titles during Asean Youth Conference (AYC) 2018 held in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday (22/9).

The students are Agung Setia Budi (2014), Nadya Ramadhani Susilo (2015), and Rahmadia Nabil Nurhutomo (2017). They became the best after beating 230 participants from members countries of ASEAN, such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, and etc. read more

FAS UGM Prepares Qualified Human Resources Through Work-Based Academy

In order to meet the industry’s need for quality human resources, the Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM organizes the Work-Based Academy (WBA) program, a work learning program in collaboration with PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa (WMP).

“To bring the academic and industrial world closer, we formulate this program so that the livestock graduates will steadily run in the industrial world,” said the Dean of FAS UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. FAS UGM and Directorate General of Small and Medium Industry Organized Technical Training on Goat Milk Processing

The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM collaborates with the Directorate General of Small and Medium Industry to hold technical training (Bimtek) on goat milk processing from September 25-29, 2018 at FAS UGM. This activity is intended for Small and Medium Industries (SME) entrepreneurs in Yogyakarta.

“Through this activity, we strive to contribute to the livestock sector according to their respective roles. Thank you to the IKM owners who support the goat milk business so that it can be a driving force for the growth of the goat milk business,” said Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Collaboration, Bambang Suwignyo, S.Pt., MP, Ph.D when opening the event on Tuesday (25/9) at FAS UGM. read more

FAS UGM Gave 30 Boxes of Trigona Bee Seed to Farmers

The Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM gave 30 boxes of Trigona bee seeds to members of Gama Ngudi Lestari Farmers’ Group, Banyusoca, Playen, Gunungkidul, on Friday (7/9). This is in line with FAS UGM’s commitment to develop new livestock commodities, namely the Trigona Spp bee species or better known as the lanceng bee.

“Trigona bees are easily developed and do not require extensive land in the cultivation process. Banyusoca is an area that is suitable for the development of the bees, considering there are many plants that have the potential to feed the bees,” Dr. Ir. Bambang Suhartanto, DEA, said, a lecturer at the Laboratory of Animal Feed Forage and Pasture FAS UGM. read more
