Farms in Indonesia are mostly cultivated in rural areas by farmers or breeders. The livestock that is kept includes cows, bulls, goats, and sheep, while for poultry there are free-range chicken, duck, and goose. There is a common problem in animal breeding, which is nutrient deficiencies and parasites. One of the deficient nutrients is protein. Meanwhile, the dominant parasites in goats and sheep are Haemonchus contortus and Coccidia worms.

To address these problems, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry team joining in the Independent Village Development-Based Community Service coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ir. Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) UGM students, 2015 class, Muhammad Khoerul Fadhli and Rauufa Prasadita, were selected as UGM delegates to attend the 2018 community service program SUIJI-SLP (Service Learning Program) in Japan from August 17 to September 3, 2018. The two FAS students placed in Takagawa Site, a rural area that lies between mountains and rice fields.

Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., said there was no a dropout warning to students related to a Leadership in Millenial Era seminar that was planned for Friday (12/10).

“The faculty management or university management had never issued a dropout warning, and there was no statement saying that the students hosting the event was threatened to drop out,” said Panut to reporters on Monday (15/10).

Panut also said the cancelled permit for room use was not due to pressures from certain people but due to unsuitable procedures. Hence, he asked people not to link this matter with political contestation. read more

Because of the idea of ​​an information-spatial technology-based system to support waste processing, Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) students, Muhammad Alfin Huda, won 2^nd place in the Future Scientific Competition 2018 in the Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI) on October 5-6 2018. In the competition, Huda collaborated with Septi Mooi Cahyani, a student of the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Faculty of Engineering UGM and Anisah Bella Istiqomah, a student of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM.
