Collaboration Between UGM Faculty of Animal Science and KAPGAMA Strengthens Alumni Network at ILDEX Indonesia 2025

The Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with the Gadjah Mada Animal Science Alumni Association (KAPGAMA), participated in ILDEX Indonesia 2025, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Jakarta, from September 17 to 19, 2025. This collaboration served as a pivotal event for strengthening ties among academics, alumni, industry players, and stakeholders within the national livestock sector.

Led by the Faculty’s UGM ILDEX Team Chair, Ir. Rochijan, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM., and the KAPGAMA ILDEX Team Chair, Ir. Achmad Dawami, the event featured a range of activities, including discussions, experience-sharing sessions, and cross-sector networking initiatives, as well as the proposal and reinforcement of the KAPGAMA Alumni Scholarship program. Furthermore, the event included a group photo session involving alumni, faculty members, students, researchers, and industry professionals, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and intergenerational collaboration within the UGM animal science community.

According to Ir. Rochijan, the Faculty’s participation in ILDEX 2025 is not merely an exhibition event but also an opportunity to strengthen academic and professional synergy.

“Collaboration with KAPGAMA demonstrates that the alumni network is a powerful force in shaping the future of Indonesia’s livestock education and industry,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ir. Achmad Dawami added that this event serves as a strategic platform for alumni to make tangible contributions. “Through these cross-disciplinary discussions, we hope for follow-up actions in the form of concrete support for research development, education, and scholarships for Fapet UGM students. The spirit of cooperation and the alumni’s commitment form the primary foundation for the faculty’s sustainability,” he explained.

The Faculty of Animal Science and KAPGAMA booth attracted significant attention from ILDEX visitors, including alumni from the Faculty’s Student Executive Board (BEM) and undergraduate programs, as well as students from other universities.

The booth drew a substantial number of visitors, totaling 302 people. They included university students, corporate representatives, alumni, researchers (including those from BRIN), high school and vocational school students, and others.

This collaborative initiative serves as a tangible example of the synergy between the faculty and its alumni in strengthening the education and innovation ecosystem within the livestock sector. Through robust networking among the university, alumni, and the industry, the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM continues to demonstrate its commitment to contributing to the advancement of a highly competitive national livestock industry.
