The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), Prof. Ir. Budi Guntoro, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., pushes for the graduates of Fapet UGM to supervise government programs in the food sector. It was emphasized by the dean at the graduation ceremony of bachelors and applied bachelors in the ASLC Hall, Fapet UGM, Wednesday, May 28th 2025.
“In the next five years the government will be focused on the food sector. For that I hope that you all can take part in supervising programs regarding food security,” said Budi Guntoro.
Budi recognized the challenges as well as potential faced by the graduates in the food sector are both great. Farming resources need to be increased in quality.
He also gave the picture of government’s programs that are still a priority to be solved, such as the high milk import up to the low protein consumption of the people.
“The potential and challenges are both great. But I am sure that the academic and social lesson and experience in UGM could be a provision for all of you,” adds Budi.
Meanwhile, the statistics of the Period III Academic Year 2024/2025 graduates are as such, the fastest graduating student is Bidadari Kalila Artadhya that finished in only 3 years, 5 months, and 14 days. The highest GPA of all students was achieved by Rian Saputra with the GPA of 3.94, and the youngest graduate was achieved by Eka Putri Mayra Natasya Kusumaningtyas who graduated at 20 years, 10 months, and 9 days.
From the total of 65 students graduating, 27 were males and 38 were females.
