The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM receives a comparative study from the Faculty of Animal Science and Fisheries in the University of West Sulawesi (Fapetkan Unsulbar) on Thursday (4/12). The visit was led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sitti Nurani Sirajuddin S.Pt., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., as an effort to strengthen educational quality through benchmarking and exploring academic collaborations.
Prof. Sitti Nurani stated that the Faculty of Animal Science and Fisheries in the University of West Sulawesi is relatively new, only 13 years old, and therefore requires significant learning from more established universities. She hopes this visit will be the first step in encouraging lecturers to pursue doctoral studies and opening up opportunities for collaboration, such as public lectures and other academic exchange programs.
“We have also collaborated extensively with other faculties, such as Veterinary Medicine, among others. Now we want to learn more from the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, which is already more advanced,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Ir. R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, S.Pt., M.Sc. Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., welcomed the planned collaboration. The Faculty of Animal Science in UGM welcomes broad collaboration opportunities, ranging from academic activities to joint research or joint supervision.
Romadoni also outlined the academic profile of the Faculty of Animal Science in UGM, which currently has 75 lecturers, including 26 professors. He also mentioned the engineering profession’s accreditation, which has achieved an A rating, while the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs have achieved Superior accreditation, including international recognition through ASIIN.
