The Graduate Futsal Team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) participated in the Pascagama Futsal Competition 2026, a tournament that provided graduate students with an opportunity to develop their athletic potential while fostering teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among the UGM community.
The competition began with team registration on Monday, June 16, 2026, followed by a technical meeting held on Thursday, June 18, at Room C1-007, GIK Building. During the session, the organizing committee outlined the tournament regulations, match procedures, and competition guidelines before conducting the group draw. Fapet UGM was placed in Group B alongside the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and the Faculty of Agriculture. The group-stage matches were held at GOR Nusantara, with two matches scheduled on Friday and one on Saturday.
In their opening match on Friday, June 19, Fapet UGM faced the Faculty of Economics and Business. Both teams competed intensely throughout the game, but Fapet UGM ultimately fell 0-4.
Later that day, Fapet UGM took on the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. After taking an early lead with the opening goal, the team was unable to maintain its advantage as FMIPA mounted a comeback to secure a 6-1 victory. Despite the result, John Palulungan of Fapet UGM was recognized for his outstanding performance and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Day 1.
The team’s final group-stage match took place on Saturday, June 20, against the Faculty of Agriculture. Both sides delivered a competitive performance from the opening whistle, but Fapet UGM concluded the tournament with a 0-4 defeat.
The group-stage results placed Fapet UGM fourth in Group B, ending the team’s journey before the semifinals. Although they did not advance to the knockout stage, their participation in the Pascagama Futsal Competition 2026 provided valuable experience in strengthening team cohesion, enhancing students’ sporting abilities, and proudly representing the Faculty of Animal Science in an interfaculty competition.
