KMK and PMK of Faculty of Animal Science UGM Hold “Kristen Berbagi” at a Nursing Home

Keluarga Maahasiswa Katolik (Catholic Student Association, or KMK) and Persekutuan Mahasiswa Kristen (Christian Student Fellowship, or PMK) of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM), jointly organized a community outreach program titled Kristen Berbagi (Krisber) on April 11, 2026, at Tresna Werda Nursing Home. Held during the Easter season, the initiative reflected the students’ commitment to sharing love, compassion, and joy with others.

The program began with a donation drive that welcomed contributions from people of all religious backgrounds. Through this initiative, the organizing committee aimed to foster a spirit of generosity while strengthening the relationship between the student organizations and the wider community.

During the visit, the students organized a variety of creative and recreational activities for the nursing home’s elderly residents. The program included decorating tote bags, group exercise sessions, games, and singing together, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the event.

The committee shared that all participants attended as scheduled in coordination with the nursing home and enthusiastically took part in every activity. Beyond bringing happiness to the elderly residents, the program also provided KMK and PMK members with valuable lessons about respecting older adults and serving others with compassion.

“The goals of this program were to build a strong relationship between the nursing home and KMK of the Faculty of Animal Science, provide members with meaningful experiences in sharing and spreading love, and bring joy to the elderly residents who long for the warmth of home,” said the event committee representative, Gabriella Dara.

The program also received support from KMK alumni of the Faculty of Animal Science. One alumnus, Dellin, expressed appreciation for the students’ dedication to sustaining the organization’s social outreach initiatives.

“I hope this program brings meaningful benefits, and I wish you all the best with the activity. Thank you for keeping KMK and PMK of the Faculty of Animal Science active. May the Lord Jesus bless you,” he said.

Meanwhile, representatives from Tresna Werda Nursing Home warmly welcomed the students and expressed their hope that similar activities would continue in the future.

“Thank you to KMK and PMK for visiting Tresna Werda Nursing Home. Our elderly residents were truly happy to have you here. We sincerely hope UGM will organize more activities like this in the future,” a representative of the nursing home said.
