The Laboratory Assistant team of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) successfully received the 2026 Grant for Peningkatan Kompetensi Pranata Laboratorium Pendidikan (PKPLP), organized by the Integrated Laboratory Management of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The program aims to enhance the laboratory assistants competencies, producing both skill-based and written outputs. The program was open to all laboratory assistants of Universitas Gadjah Mada, hoping to advance laboratory assistants competencies both at the university and national levels.
The team from the Faculty of Animal Science was led by Ikhwan Hadianto, S.Pt., M.Sc., with the team members consisting of Siska Devi Kusumawati A.Md.Vet, Nur Latifah, S.Si., Rina Ispitasari, AMAK., and Muhammad Rio Rafif, S.Pt. In this program, they proposed the title: Validation of the Ascorbic Acid Test Method for Phosphorus in Animal-Based Food Using Microwave Digestion and a UV-Vis Microplate Spectrophotometer in Accordance with ISO 17025.
This program consists of research based on method validation in food analysis. The activities also involve collaboration among several laboratories, including the Tropical Animal Research Laboratory, the Biochemistry and Nutrition Laboratory, and the Dairy Animal Science and Dairy Industry Laboratory,” explained Ikhwan on Thursday (22/1).
This program is expected to provide in-depth knowledge to a wide audience wishing to apply the same analytical methods. Additionally, it will further enhance the competencies of laboratory staff and bring broad benefits to the community as well as to fellow professionals working in the same field.
