Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya High School Visits the UGM Faculty of Animal Science

A group of 126 students from Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya High School visited the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM on Wednesday (8/10). This activity was part of a campus study tour conducted at several higher education institutions in Yogyakarta and Central Java.

Dewi Purwanti, the Principal of Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya High School, stated that the visit to UGM aimed to gather the latest information regarding new student admissions and gain insight into university life.

“Last year, we were hosted by the Faculty of Engineering. This year, we wanted to broaden our understanding of other faculties at UGM, including the Faculty of Animal Science,” she explained.

According to Dewi, although the school is relatively new—established in 2018—its graduates have already been accepted into various prestigious universities across Java. “We are grateful that, in such a short time, our alumni have secured places at many top-tier universities,” she added.

During the visit, the students showed great enthusiasm during the presentation on the faculty profile. They actively asked questions about UGM’s admission pathways, the study programs at the Faculty of Animal Science, and career opportunities for graduates.

To conclude the visit, the students had the opportunity to taste a livestock-based product from the Faculty of Animal Science’s Livestock Development Center, specifically, pasteurized milk resulting from student research and innovation.
